Family Mediation Services
Family Mediation is a voluntary process where I act as an impartial third party to assist in resolving family disputes involving parenting, support, and property division issues.
Family Mediation is an affordable, low conflict process, that enables families to negotiate their own terms of separation that will work best for their family.
Rather than negotiating a Separation Agreement through separate lawyers, I am able to be jointly-retained by both parties to help keep costs down and reach an amicable resolution.
Child-Focused Services
In addition to Family Mediation, I also offer the following child-focused services:
- Child-Inclusive Mediation - children are interviewed separately within the family mediation context to determine their views and preferences ($1,000 per child in addition to mediation package)
- Voice of the Child Reports - each child is separately interviewed to determine their views and preferences around parenting and a written report is provided to help settle disputes or for court-related purposes ($1,500 per child)
Family Mediation Process
- Each party submits separate intake forms and schedules individual intake sessions (cost $250 each).
- Both parties purchase a mediation package (see below) and sign an Agreement to Mediate if they wish to proceed.
- In joint sessions, issues are discussed and addressed, disclosure is provided and exchanged and support and property calculations are conducted as needed.
- After terms have been agreed to, I prepare a draft Separation Agreement or Mediation Agreement that is reviewed with the parties together.
- Lastly, I provide a copy of the Separation Agreement to the parties to review and sign with their lawyers.
